To say I needed help with pantry and kitchen organization was an understatement. After the move, everything was a complete disaster and I honestly didn’t know where to start. In comes my hero, Amanda from NEAT Method OKC. She was able to turn my disaster into a beautifully organized and functional space and give me some tips to share with you.

The baskets and containers are from The Container Store fit perfectly and just look really darn good! Before you see my before picture, please don’t get all judgy on me haha!
As you can see, it was BAD. We had just moved in, but I honestly don’t think I would have made it much better. Amanda was able to move things from the pantry to the kitchen (that was a whole other mess) to create more space for pantry storage and make my kitchen more functional. I’m so thankful for all of her help and I know I could not have done it on my own.
Amanda from Neat Method OKC was even kind enough to share some great pantry and kitchen organization tips with us!
Pantry and Kitchen Organization Tips
Tip # 1 :: EDIT :: The best way to start organizing your pantry or kitchen is to take a look at each and every item and make sure there isn’t anything expired, worn out, or broken that’s taking up valuable real estate!
Tip #2 :: CATEGORIZE :: Keeping like items together will guarantee that you can always find what you need and that you will use what you have before it goes bad. Categories are unique to each home based on individual needs, so be creative with your labels!
Tip #3 :: PRIORITIZE :: Consider what is most frequently used. Make sure those items are placed on the shelves that are at eye level in the pantry and in the cabinets most easily accessed in the kitchen. Dishes that are used daily should be located nearest the dishwasher.
Tip #4 :: IMPLEMENT :: It is important to purchase items that are not only visually appealing but also functional. In a NEAT Method pantry and kitchen, you will find one or more of the following: baskets, containers, chalkboard labels, drawer organizers, and of course hanging tags!

The Kitchen
In the kitchen, utilize racks, bins, and dividers to organize everything from towels to silverware. I couldn’t believe the difference a divider makes! If anything, be sure to get yourself some dividers.
I thought I had done a decent job organizing all the drawers on my own, but I was blown away when I saw the change! Amanda really took advantage of the space and was even able to add more items she had pulled from the pantry when I thought there was no additional space.
If you would like an organization fairy to come to your home, you can contact her at Amanda@neatmethod.com. I absolutely recommend her for all of your organization needs!
