It’s been a while since I’ve posted about the house, so A LOT has happened. We went to see the countertops last night and I snapped some photos with my phone. The siding pattern on the outside of the house is being fixed (wrong pattern) so I will share that in another post.
The house is quickly coming together and we are struggling to tie up the loose ends. Our life is basically, “WE FORGOT TO ORDER THE FAUCETTTTT!” It’s just something different every day! It’s a little stressful, but as each little thing happens, we get more and more excited.
Kitchen
I’m so happy I decided to mix it up and go with a green kitchen. I thought I was crazy and didn’t mention it to J for weeks, but when I did, he loved the idea so we went with it! The kitchen is painted Rocky River by Sherwin Williams. The color is gorgeous and makes a statement without being too bold. Our cabinet fronts will be installed within the next few weeks.
We will have a larger, white subway tile backsplash that will go all the way to the ceiling. Our countertops are Quartz and they are called Statuary. I’m so glad we decided to go with these! I love the grey veining.
We still don’t know what color we will stain the floating shelves or any of the vanities. That’s been a tad bit stressful. I’m so excited to see the kitchen in a few weeks! I’m dying to see it compete.
We added a built-in at the end of the hallway. It ended up being HUGE! I love having all of the additional storage space instead of a wall.
Living
Our porches are being poured tomorrow so we will no longer have a hole in our house (back of the fireplace)! The wood burning stove will go in this fireplace surround. My husband worked so hard on this fireplace and cannot wait to see the finished product. Our floors are Daltile Hillhouse. Since we have 3 young children, 2 dogs, and want to have a working farm, we thought tile was the best choice for our family. I’ve never been a fan of tile so I will have to get used to it.
Upstairs
The trim throughout the home is painted Pure White by Sherwin Williams. The walls are Snowbound by Sherwin Williams. I am in love with both colors. After going through the never-ending Pinterest black hole of whites paints, I picked these two after speaking with several designer friends. Thanks for helping a sister out!
The upstairs bath has a fun tile and a light grey subway tile around the tub. We decided to take the tile all the way to the ceiling in both showers. It really completes the look! All the bathrooms have Arctic White Quartz countertops. Just so you know, I didn’t notice the beer can until I was editing this photo. Nice.
This is the front bedroom upstairs. We are staining this bookshelf because it really pops against the white paint and trim.
I cannot wait to see all my babies reading on this window seat. The girls will have the best view from their room!
Thanks for checking out this impromptu house build update! I can’t wait to share the finished product with you!
